Our Story

Canadian Hazara Humanitarian Services (CHHS) is a not-for-profit organization formally registered with the Government of Canada as of September 2019. The organization developed from a grassroots group of community activists and volunteers formerly referred to as the Coherence and Coordination Committee (C&C Committee), which was established by the Canadian-Hazara community in October 2017. The aim of the C&C Committee was to promote a culture of volunteerism within the community and to assist newcomers during their settlement process in Canada.      Read More…

I immigrated to Canada last September but I have known Dr. Nasrin Hussaini since early 2015. As a humble, educated and resourceful person, she has always been willing to offer help in a timely manner. Knowing that Dr. Hussaini is a socially active person with good networks, I consulted her for provision of a letter to confirm my Hazara identity to further support my refugee claim. Gladly, she introduced me to CHHS and the invaluable services that the CHHS offers and provided me with the letter. Though the letter proved to be a surplus and wasn’t presented to the immigration board, I am honored to be introduced to CHHS and am thankful for her willingness to help. Since then, I have had the honor of being a member of benevolent CHHS community.
